It has been almost six years since I wrote my first travel blog based on my trip to Kemmangundi-Attigundi with my friends. Since then I have been on many trips but I did not have much to write or express. But my recent trip to Kundapur on the shores of Karnataka made me come out of my slumber and has inspired me to pen this post.
After many days my wife Savita and I had a long holiday over the weekend. We were longing for a break from our daily routines. We were looking for a short trip to recharge our fatigued minds and bodies. My wife suggested a trip to a beach resort somewhere near Kundapur in coastal Karnataka. Without giving a second thought I said yes, as I wanted to be out of Bengaluru at least for a few days. And so started our trip and it resulted in this blog.
From Bengaluru we took an overnight bus to Kundapur. We left Yeshwanthpur at around 11 pm. Whizzing past Hassan, Sakaleshpur , Mangaluru and Udupi, we reached Kundapur at about 7 am the next day. For the uninitiated, Kundapur is approximately 450 Kms from Bengaluru and it takes about 9 to 10 hours to reach depending on traffic conditions. We got down at Kundapur Bus Stand and took an auto rickshaw to go to Trasi Beach. Trasi Beach is about 14 Kms from Kundapur and it took us about 25 minutes to reach. The auto ride was an amazing experience. The cool morning breeze was blowing one side of the auto to the other. It was great sight to see the day break over the many rivers we crossed enroute. The fishermen were getting ready with their boats and fishing nets. I lost count of the number of bridges we crossed before we reached the Trasi Beach. With greenery all around and the cool river breeze we were already feeling refreshed.
