Hyderabad is the capital of Andhra Pradesh and is separated from its twin city - Secunderabad by the Hussain Sagar Lake.
Hyderabad is known as the city of pearls because historically it was a hub for pearl and diamond trading. The city is also known for its landmarks - Charminar and Golkonda fort, and for its food - the biryani which is a rice dish.
Over the past decade and half Hyderabad has also emerged as one of the leading information technology centre of India. Several international technology companies have set up their Indian offices in Hyderabad.
