The question every couple is asking

Over the last few years, destination weddings abroad have become a kind of dream for many Indian couples. Bali, Thailand, Italy, Dubai. The pictures look beautiful. The reels look perfect.

But somewhere in the rush to go far, we started to forget something simple. The most extraordinary wedding destination in the world has been here all along.

So we decided to ask the question out loud. Shaadi vatan mein, ya videsh mein? A wedding in your homeland, or abroad?

It is a question worth asking. And the answer, we believe, is written in the soil of this country.

Where the campaign comes from

The inspiration for Shaadi Vatan Mein did not come from a boardroom. It came from watching real weddings unfold across our properties, from the forts of Udaipur to the valleys of Manali, from the ghats of Rishikesh to the quiet forests of Corbett.

Every time, the same thing happened. The couple chose India not because it was cheaper or easier, but because it felt like theirs. Because their people could be there. Because the land itself became part of the celebration.

What we want this campaign to do

Shaadi Vatan Mein is not just a tagline. It is an invitation.

We want couples to look at their own country with fresh eyes. We want them to see that choosing India is not settling for less. It is choosing more. More meaning, more belonging, more of the people and traditions that made them who they are.

We also want to celebrate the families who have always known this. The mothers, the grandmothers, the fathers who dreamed of seeing their children married on their own soil, surrounded by their own.

Located at an elevation marked as Point 7707, approximately 700 m from the Mall Road and about 500 m from Jakhu Temple, jüSTa Darkwood Lodge & Spa, is housed in a late-19th-century residence that once served as the home of a British engineer associated with the development of Shimla’s early water supply infrastructure, including the Seog reservoir and its catchment area. The heritage structure has been carefully restored to meet contemporary hospitality requirements while retaining the architectural character of a traditional hill-station residence. The property is set within a cedar forest and is connected to an existing forest trail that leads towards the Seog Bagh area via Sanjauli and Jakhu, offering a nature-based walking experience linked to the site’s historical context.
